The Briton, winner of the qualifying swim for the 2024 Olympics, was disqualified for a mistake in the final turn.

British, double Tokyo Olympic medallist Luc Greenbank disqualified for breaking the rules in the qualifying round of the 200m backstroke at the 2024 Paris Games.

Greenbank set the fastest time in the fourth swim, but stayed underwater too long on the final turn and was disqualified.

The first place in the qualifications was taken by the Swiss Roman Mityukov – 1 minute 56.62 seconds.

Greenbank finished third in the 200m backstroke at the Games in the Japanese capital and also won silver as part of the relay team.

The Paris Olympics will end on August 11.
