Head coach Khust Tsytkin: Five players remain from the team that played last season

In the opening round of the First League, Khust will play away against Podolye

Head coach Khusta Vladimir Tsytkin commented on his team’s preparations for the 2024/25 season First League.

“Frankly speaking, for a long time it was not known at all whether Khust would continue to play among the master teams. In June, information appeared that it was ceasing to exist, and the players received the status of free agents. And only when it became clear that Khust would remain in the First League due to Druzhba’s financial problems, the situation gradually began to change for the better.”

“Only 5 players remain from the team that played last season. We were lucky that the start of the First League was postponed and we had the opportunity to look at more potential newcomers. Now I have 18 players at my disposal, and we are still looking for reinforcements in each line.”

“Don’t ask about the goals for the season. In my opinion, the main thing is that Khust will start at all, and after the first stage of the championship there will be an opportunity to specify the goals.”

Khust showed the best result in the 2023/24 First League season among the relegated teams and replaced Druzhba, which withdrew from the PFL competitions for a number of reasons. According to information Sport Arenathis offseason Khust may sign former Agrobiznes players – goalkeeper Andrey Popovich and defender Semyon Datsenko.

In the opening round of the First League of Group A, Khust will face Podolye away – the match is scheduled for August 8. Before that, Tsytkin’s team will play a match of the first preliminary stage of the Ukrainian Cup – Khust will face Probiy away on August 3.
