Choreographer Sergei Plishkin, in a conversation with , appreciated the performance of figure skaters Elizaveta Osokina and Artem Gritsaenko at the skating tests of the Russian national team, and also talked about their joint work on the programs.
The national team’s skating tests took place on September 14-15 in St. Petersburg. Osokina and Gritsaenko performed a short program to “Alabama Shakes” – “Give me all you love” and a free program to “Caruso” performed by “SERYO”.
— For the short program of Lisa and Artem, I suggested taking “Alabama Shakes”: I like the band, the singer, the sound. “Give me everything you love” – give me all your love. We decided to stage a light youthful quarrel, in which a girl blows away a man. We all experienced this, so the idea was somewhere nearby, it only remained to blow off the dust. I had to remember myself in those years and put together a simple, “rolling” program.
Arbitrariness, on the contrary, is a more mature and calm love, without bright conflicts. Everything has already passed, everything is behind. There is a saying that love lasts three years. I believe that this is not the case: love lives forever, but falling in love can perhaps live three years. Here, the guys represent conscious and adult love. How sad they are without each other and how good it is to feel and see each other every day.
The production of the programs was very fun and relaxed. We have a great relationship with the guys. We had some good performances in the skate tests; we couldn’t present our work in a complete and clean way, but it’s the beginning of the season. We will work and try to show our programs.
“Of course, I was very upset that the whole team could not come. Two couples from Perm could not visit the rinks for health reasons. This was a big blow for me. I wish all the athletes good health,” Plishkin told .
Last season, Osokina and Gritsaenko became silver and bronze medalists at the Russian Grand Prix, took 8th place at the national championship and 6th at the Spartakiad of the strongest.
