Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva made it to the second round of the competition WTA 1000 in Beijing (China).
In the first round of the main draw, Yulia dealt with the representative of Germany, Laura Siegemund. The meeting lasted two hours and 28 minutes.
In the first set, the Ukrainian managed to get three breaks – 6:4. The second set ended in a tie-break, where Yulia managed to take three rallies on her opponent’s serve (7:3).
Starodubtseva has made it into the main draw of a WTA 1000 tournament for the first time in her career. Her next opponent will be 27th seed Kateryna Siniakova.
Three more Ukrainians will play in the tournament in Beijing: Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremska and Angelina Kalinina. Lesya Tsurenko dropped out after the first round.
