Former world champion believes AJ should fight an easy opponent
Former World Champion Amir Khan believes that the ex-heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua could return to the top level. However, AJ shouldn’t immediately go for a rematch against the IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois.
“A rematch would be one of the biggest mistakes he’ll make. I don’t think he’ll go for a rematch. If it was a close fight where they both won individual rounds, then yeah, that’s fine. But I think in a one-sided fight like that, a rematch is the last thing you want to think about.”
“I think Joshua still has some gas in the tank, some good fights left for him. Maybe he should take an easy fight next time.”
Joshua lost to Dubois in a fight that took place in London on Saturday, September 21. Daniel knocked AJ down three times and knocked his opponent out in the fifth round. Dubois defended the IBF title, which he received after Usyk relinquished it.
After the fight, Daniel said he was ready to have a rematch with AJ. Dubois assured that he still has something to work on and next time he will be more dangerous.
The Joshua-Dubois fight set a new record for the largest crowd in the 21st century for a boxing match. The evening of boxing at Wembley Stadium in London was attended by 98,128 people.
