For the last year, the ex-athlete held the position of acting head of FLAU
Bronze medalist of the Olympic Games, and now – deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olga Saladukha elected new President of the Ukrainian Athletics Federation.
The ex-athlete has served as acting head of FLAU since June 2023. She will serve in her official position as president for the next four years.
The elections took place at the FLAU reporting and election conference. 26 conference participants voted for Saladukha.
Before the voting procedure, Olga Saladukha reported on her previous work. She outlined the activities of FLAU over the past year and a half in six important areas: popularization of athletics, development of children’s athletics, implementation of projects and events, attracting sponsors and partners, strengthening openness and transparency, sports policy and diplomacy.
In January 2022, Saladukha officially ended her sports career. The athlete is a bronze medalist at the London 2012 Olympics in the triple jump, world champion (2011), three-time European champion (2010, 2012, 2014), and European indoor champion (2013).
