UCI: “CSKA riders and employees have been informed of the ban on running”

The International Cyclist Union (UCI) has notified the riders and staff of CSKA participating in the Tour du Faso of a representation ban.

The UCI had previously blacklisted cyclists from the CSKA team who participated in the Tour du Faso. The list published on the official website of the organization included Russians Dmitry Eroshkin (team staff), Evgeny Kazanov (CSKA team member), as well as Artem Gomozkov, Kirill Kapustin, Anton Popov, Mamyr Stash and Anton Vorobyov, who started the race.

— Following the participation of the CSKA club in the Tour Faso, a class 2 competition registered on the UCI International Calendar, with riders wearing uniforms bearing the inscription “Russian Army”, the riders and staff were informed that they was prohibited from participating in any event. of the UCI International Calendar in accordance with the UCI Ad Hoc Regulations for Russia and Belarus. Therefore, the riders and team employees have been added to the corresponding list on the UCI website,” the UCI told .

Previously, the UCI removed this race from the calendar due to the fact that the riders participating in it represented CSKA, which is against the rules regarding the performance of Russian athletes in competitions under the auspices of the organization.
