Ukrainian volleyball players, who replaced the Russian team at the World Championships, reached the quarter-finals of the tournament for the first time in history

Men’s team Ukraine beat the Netherlands team and reached the quarter-finals of the Volleyball World Championship, which takes place in Poland and Slovenia.

The match ended with the score of 3-0 (25:16, 25:19, 25:18).

The Ukrainian team for the first time in history reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup. Previously, the team’s best result was 10th place at the World Cup in 1998.

The Ukrainian team replaced the Russian team in the tournament after the Russians were suspended from competitions under the auspices of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). Moreover, Russia was initially chosen as the host of the 2022 World Cup but was deprived of the opportunity to host the tournament.

The world championship will end on September 11.
