IndyCar: Canapino sets the pace in Detroit and closes out a great classification

The Juncos Racing driver finished tenth in his group and will start 20th in tomorrow’s final.

Agustín Canapino completed the IndyCar classification at the Detroit street circuit, scene of the seventh date of the season. Alex Palou took pole position.

In the first part, Canapino joined the second group and did eight laps in his heat, clocking his best attempt at 1:02.907. This time, “Titan” from Arrecifes finished tenth, 1s376 behind the 1:01.530 set by Kyle Kirkwood, which is the fastest of the bunch. In the first round, Marcus Armstrong was the reference with a 1:01.855.

On the other hand, Alex Palou was first with a 1:01.639 and got a spot in the definition. In Six Fast, the Spaniard was joined by Romain Grosjean, Marcos Ericsson, Josef Newgarden, Scott McLaughlin and Scott Dixon

After the classification, Agustín Canapino spoke

“I qualified without any problems. Of course we want more, but in any case it was a good job for the team to get the car back”, expressed Canapino and in the same line, he added: “Thanks to all the team for the work yesterday, I think tomorrow ko Leaving position 20”.

Finally, the “Titan” referred to the traffic he had to deal with in practice this Saturday. “Practice is crazy. Now in qualifying it was good, but still I think the track is very difficult and we have a really difficult race tomorrow.hill
