Russell and Leclerc are in the top 3
Pilot Ferrari Carlos Sainz became the winner Singapore Grand Prix qualifying. The Spaniard won pole position for the second time in a row this season.
Sainz was 0.072 s ahead George Russell from Mercedes and 0.079 from his partner Charles Leclerc. McLaren pilot Lando Norris showed fourth time, Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes showed fifth time.
Also finishing in the top 10 were Kevin Magnussen (Haas), Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), Esteban Ocon (Alpin), Nico Hulkenberg (Haas) and Liam Lawson (Alfa Tauri).
Overall leader Max Verstappen and his teammate Sergio Perez did not qualify for the final segment, showing 11th and 13th times respectively.
Note that qualifying was interrupted by red flags for almost half an hour due to Lance Stroll’s (Aston Martin) accident at the end of the first segment.
The main race, the Singapore Grand Prix, will take place on Sunday, September 16. Starts at 15:00.
