Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova said she was happy to start the 2023 season with a victory over American Amanda Anisimova at the WTA 500 category tournament in Adelaide, Australia.
On Monday, Kudermetova defeated Anisimova in the first round of the tournament with the score 6:3, 6:0. In the next round, the Russian, who received the fourth seed, will play with Canadian Bianca Andreescu.

The Adelaide tournament runs from January 1-8.
