Russian premier player Daniil Medvedev said this season was the best of his professional career.
On Saturday, Medvedev will face Chilean Cristian Garin in the second round of the tournament in Shanghai (China).
— This is probably my best season. Yes, I would have liked to win the Grand Slam, but I am happy with my performance at Wimbledon and the US Open. I lost against great opponents. It’s a stable season. “I will do everything possible to make this end on a good note,” Medvedev told a news conference.
At Wimbledon, Medvedev lost to world number one Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals, and at the US Open he reached the final, in which he lost to Serbian Novak Djokovic.
