The Ukrainian lost to Hong Son Chan in two sets
Ukrainian tennis player Ilya Marchenko completed performances at ATP Challenger 75 in Gwangju (South Korea).
In the first round of the main draw, Ilya lost to local tennis player Hong Song Chan, located 67 positions higher in the ATP ranking. The two-set match lasted almost two hours.
In the first game, Marchenko led 3:2 thanks to a break point, but at the decisive moment lost to his opponent on his serve with the score 3:4. As a result, Hong converted the set point on the fourth attempt.
In the second set, everything turned out even less rosy for Ilya. He lost three times in a row on his serves, then won back two match points with the score 1:5, but still lost in the next game to a younger (ten years) opponent.
Let us remind you that the other day Marchenko reached the quarterfinals of the challenger in another Korean city of Busan, and before that at the same tournament he was eliminated at a similar stage in doubles.
