Yannick has six titles this year
Italian Jannik Sinner secured his title ahead of schedule world number one based on the results of the calendar year 2024.
Sinner achieved this achievement in Shanghai, where the ATP 1000 event is currently taking place. Yannick triumphed over the Czech Tomas Machac in the semi-finals (6:4, 7:5) – this will allow the tennis player to finish the year as the leader in the world rankings.
23-year-old Sinner will become the 19th tennis player in history to finish number one in the ATP rankings at the end of the year. In addition, Yannick set a national record – Sinner is the first Italian to achieve this achievement.
In 2024, Sinner won six titles. Among them are the Australian Open and US Open. In the final of the event in China, Yannick will fight with the winner of the Novak Djokovic – Taylor Fritz confrontation.
