Swedish biathlete Hanna Oeberg wins the individual race at the World Championships in Oberhof

Swedish biathlete Hanna Oeberg won the individual race at the World Championships in Oberhof, Germany.

Oeberg, who once missed the first firing range, covered the 15 km distance in 43 minutes 36.1 seconds. Second place was taken by her compatriot Lynn Persson the third is Italian Lisa Vittozzi.

Overall World Cup leader Julie Simon of France came fifth. Sweden’s Elvira Oeberg and Norway’s Marte Olsby Reiseland missed the race.

The single mixed relay will take place at the World Championships on Thursday.

Russian athletes miss the 2022/23 season by decision of the International Biathlon Union (IBU).
