Olympic cross-country skiing champion Veronika Stepanova in her column on , she spoke about the conditions under which Norwegian athletes train.
– It’s no secret that the Norwegians really have a little more than all the other teams. For example: all top teams have a waxing truck – a tailor-made truck for the preparation of skis. But only the Norwegians have a second truck – a living room, a mobile dressing room and even a double-decker in the unfolded state.
A trifle? Well, how can I tell you… This mobile dressing room is the envy of all its rivals. After training, you have to leave your skis in the main truck, then trudge to the locker room allocated by the organizers of the competition. What happens in practice? It’s true: everyone – Swedes, Germans, Finns, us – change their clothes directly in the truck where the skis are prepared, or even directly in the street. And the Norwegians have everything nearby, clean, bright, warm. Such “little things” are not at all trifles for us! — wrote Stepanova.
Last season, Stepanova took second place in the overall standings at the end of the Russian Cup. The Russians did not participate in international tournaments.
