Russian biathlete Irina Kazakevich in an interview with , she explained the features of roller skis made in Belarus.
The summer stage of the Commonwealth Cup took place in Belarusian Raubichi in September 2022. Kazakevich won gold in the sprint, took third place in the pursuit and finished fourth in the mass start.
— During summer competitions, all biathletes race on the same roller skates. From what I understand, this is also done so that there is no difference in results precisely because of the inventory. Have you ever had situations where roller skates failed?
– It seems to me that this did not happen. When we were racing in Sochi, it seemed that some roller skates were tight, and for everyone, not just for me (smile). But I wasn’t disappointed. In the old days, everyone ran alone, that is, not everyone was given roller skates – they were washed, the bearings were washed, something was done to them. Now, I think, a more correct approach.
It was a bit unusual last year when we trained and raced with the same brand of roller skates, but in Belarus at the Commonwealth Cup there were completely different and dissimilar skaters.
– Belarusian roller skaters?
– Yes, these are indeed their Belarusian roller skates. They have production. They’re not bad, but they have a slightly different fit. You get used to it, of course, but it’s still unusual at first. This doesn’t mean they drive differently, but there is a slight difference.
All races of the stages of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup and the Russian Cup will be broadcast live on the channel, and broadcasts will also be available on the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
