Russian Nordic Combined Championship medalist Alexander Ovsyannikov has been disqualified for four years for violating anti-doping rules, according to the website of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).
The 27-year-old athlete’s sample contained the banned substance phenylpiracetam. Ineligibility will begin February 8, 2024 and end March 30, 2027, with credit for time served beginning March 31, 2023.
Ovsyannikov is a silver and bronze medalist of the Russian Championships in the team tournament and a medalist at the National Cup stages. The athlete also participated in the 2017 Winter Universiade.
