Former New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard and his fiancée, former Miss Peru Camila Escribens, have called off their engagement less than a year after welcoming their first child.
The couple had already sent out invitations for their upcoming wedding prior to their separation, according to TMZ.
Social media activity signaled the breakup after both Lazard and Escribens deleted photos featuring each other from their Instagram accounts. Escribens removed a post that showcased her engagement ring, and she subsequently shared a series of photographs on Instagram from a tropical locale in the days following reports of the split.

Proposal in Montauk
Lazard proposed to Escribens on May 18, 2025, during a romantic setup on a beach in Montauk, New York, located on the eastern tip of Long Island. The proposal featured a candle-lit path lined with white flowers that led to a neon sign reading "Will you marry me?" set inside a heart-shaped floral arrangement.

Following the proposal, Escribens announced the news on Instagram with a post captioned, "Onto the next chapter... 05.18.25." The New York Jets social media team also shared congratulations publicly at the time, posting: "they're engaged! congrats to @AllenLazard and his new fiancé."

Montauk, situated at the easternmost point of Long Island in Suffolk County, is known for its ocean beaches, historic lighthouse, and resort destinations. It is a popular retreat for celebrities and professional athletes during the NFL off-season.
Relationship history and family
The couple first went public with their relationship in 2024 when Escribens began attending New York Jets home games. She was frequently spotted on the sidelines at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, including during a Monday Night Football matchup against the Buffalo Bills where she wore a custom Jets varsity jacket.
Lazard and Escribens welcomed a daughter last October. The gender reveal post remains the only remaining evidence of their relationship on Lazard's Instagram account after the recent deletion of their joint photos.

MetLife Stadium serves as the shared home venue for both the New York Jets and the New York Giants in the National Football League. The stadium regularly hosts high-profile games, major concerts, and international sporting events in the New York metropolitan area.
Football career and pageant background
Lazard joined the New York Jets ahead of the 2023 NFL season after signing as a free agent. He had previously played five seasons with the Green Bay Packers, where he built a strong rapport with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, Lazard's tenure in New York proved disappointing. Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the 2023 opener, and Lazard struggled to produce, recording 70 catches for 911 yards and eight touchdowns across three seasons before being released by the Jets in December 2025.

Lazard currently remains a free agent without an active NFL contract. Escribens achieved national prominence in Peru when she was crowned Miss Peru in 2023. She went on to represent her country at the Miss Universe 2023 pageant, where she finished among the top 10 contestants.
Miss Peru is the country's premier national beauty pageant, selecting delegates to represent Peru in major international competitions. Miss Universe is one of the world's most watched beauty pageants, featuring contestants from nearly 100 countries every year.
