Greek high jumpers Antonis Merlos and Andrea Mita have qualified for the high jump final at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. Merlos advanced with a mark of 2.23 meters, while Mita secured his spot with a jump of 2.19 meters.

Qualifying rounds

Merlos cleared 2.10 meters on his first attempt before clearing 2.15 meters, 2.19 meters, and 2.23 meters on his second attempts. He placed sixth in the second qualifying group and ranked eighth overall.

Mita cleared 2.10 meters on his first attempt, 2.15 meters on his third attempt, and 2.19 meters on his first attempt. After three failed attempts at 2.23 meters, he finished fifth in the first qualifying group and 12th overall.

The high jump final is scheduled for Friday, August 14, where both Greek athletes will try for the best possible result.
