2004 Olympic Champion Khadzhimurat Gatsalov became head coach Russia in freestyle wrestling, according to the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) website.
The Russian freestyle wrestling team is currently holding a training camp at the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “CSP” in Paramonovo. On Friday, the team meeting was visited by FSBR President Mikhail Mamiashvili, who introduced the team to the new head coach, Khadzhimurat Gatsalov.
Earlier it became known that Dzambolat Tedeev, who led the Russian freestyle wrestling team from 2001 to 2012 and from 2016 to 2022, will continue to work as a curator.
Gatsalov is 39 years old, he won gold at the Athens Olympics (2004) and at the 2015 European Games he was captain and flag bearer of the Russian team.
