Russian Japar Magomedov won the gold medal in the Wushu Sanda competition as part of the BRICS Games, which are taking place in Kazan.

In the final fight in the weight category up to 85 kg, he defeated an Iranian athlete, Mohammad Reza Rigi.

In the weight category up to 75 kg, Russian Abdulkasim Magomedshapiev won silver. In the final, he lost to the representative of China, Gaofei Fan.

Previously, Russians Arsen Umalatov (up to 56 kg) and Shamil Labazanov (up to 65 kg) won gold medals.

The BRICS Games will take place from June 12 to 23 in the capital of Tatarstan.
