Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is free to play again after England’s Football Association closed its anti-doping case against him on July 30, 2026, following a settlement reached with the World Anti-Doping Agency.
Under the agreement, Mudryk admitted an anti-doping rule violation, but his suspension was deemed already served, allowing him to return to football immediately.
The case began in October 2024, when a low concentration of meldonium was detected in an out-of-competition sample. The FA notified Mudryk of the positive test in December 2024 and temporarily suspended him before filing formal charges in May 2025. An independent disciplinary commission imposed a four-year ban in January 2026, which Mudryk appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Chelsea confirmed the resolution, calling it an extremely difficult period for the player both professionally and personally. The club said it had supported him throughout and welcomed recognition that, under improved scientific reporting standards, his sample would not have been flagged positive if analyzed according to current technical requirements. Chelsea said Mudryk had consistently maintained he never knowingly or intentionally used any prohibited substance.
Separately, according to UNIAN, a London court has frozen part of Mudryk’s assets amid financial claims approaching six million euros linked to an alleged breach of contract with a commercial rights management company.
