Dominican Republic successfully defended its Nations Cup tennis title at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, defeating Colombia 2-0 in the final at the Parque del Este tennis center in Santo Domingo.

Peter Bertrán and Nick Hardt each won their singles matches to secure the gold, the country’s 11th of the Games.

Bertrán needed a grueling fight to get past Colombia’s Alejandro Arcila, winning 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-2). Hardt was more dominant in the second match, beating Cristian Rodriguez 6-0, 6-4.

In the semifinal, the Dominican Republic also beat Venezuela 2-0. Bertrán defeated Oscar Martinez 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 6-4, while Hardt beat Brando Perez 6-3, 6-3.

Dominican Republic previously won the Nations Cup gold at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador.
