England's World Cup support squad includes a paralegal, interior designers, software engineers and public relations experts, a shift from the WAG image of two decades ago. In 2006, a Spanish newspaper branded Coleen Rooney, Victoria Beckham and Cheryl Tweedy 'hooligans with visas' after their appearances generated more headlines than Germany's tournament itself. Twenty years on, the partners following England to this year's World Cup in Mexico, the United States and Canada are keeping a lower profile. Dani Dyer, wife of Jarrod Bowen, and Rebecca Cooke, wife of Phil Foden, will not be in attendance after their husbands missed out on selection, leaving the partners of Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Ollie Watkins among those expected to represent England's WAGs this summer.

The couple split two years earlier, having got engaged a year before that, with a source saying in June 2023 that their relationship had 'run its course' though they remained close friends. Rashford was later photographed on a night out in Miami, Florida, returning to his hotel with a woman at 5am, according to The Sun. Fryer attended the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and regularly attends Arsenal matches at the Emirates Stadium. Rice, who is close with former England player Mason Mount from their time together in Chelsea's academy, has said Fryer gets 'worried' about the friendship. "My missus is quite worried," he said. They married in a registry office in Crewe in March 2020, after the Covid pandemic forced them to postpone a planned wedding in the Maldives, with Jordan wearing a baseball cap and ripped jeans and Megan wearing Givenchy studded boots and carrying a Dior handbag.
