FK Austria Wien Launch Kit With Kissing Couples

Austrian club FK Austria Wien has launched its new third kit with a video showing couples kissing while wearing the strip.

The two-minute video opens with the words "Love takes many forms" as a couple sit down in what appears to be the club's changing room. Text on screen then reads: "A kiss. A feeling. A moment. It brings people together. It connects generations. It creates memories."

The film goes on to say "Five stories and a jersey", followed by "which leads to an interpretation of its own" and "Inspired by a sense of connection."

What appeared to be three couples and two sets of family members sat in front of the camera and spoke in German.

Each pair then watched a screen showing off the club's new crimson third kit before being given a replica shirt of their own and asked for their thoughts.

The club said the message was to show how love can be expressed in different ways

The video then took a turn, with the family members sharing a hug and the romantic couples embracing with a kiss, footage of which was shared alongside further images.

Kit inspired by Klimt

The club said it had unveiled the new art-inspired kit together with its kit supplier Macron. The design draws on the patterns of Gustav Klimt's painting "The Kiss", one of the best known works by the Austrian symbolist artist and a landmark of Vienna's Art Nouveau movement.

The club said the artist and the club were united by a deeply Viennese sense of aesthetics, craftsmanship, attention to detail and the courage to forge their own path.

Limited release and match debut

The jersey will initially be available in 1,000 limited-edition boxes from Friday at 12:00 online and in the fan shop.

Both the men's and women's teams will wear the kit on Saturday at the Cup double-header in Traiskirchen.

The club repeated the video's message in its announcement: "Love takes many forms. A kiss. A feeling. A moment. It brings people together. It bridges generations. It creates memories. Five stories and a jersey that inspires you to create your own interpretation."
