Ukrainian Kisil won bronze at the European Weightlifting Championships

The athlete in the over 87 kilogram category took third place in the snatch

Ukrainian Valentina Kisil won bronze on European Weightlifting Championships 2024which takes place in the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia.

The athlete competed in the category over 87 kilograms. In the snatch, Valentina showed a result of 108 kilograms, thanks to which she won a small bronze medal. In the clean and jerk, the Ukrainian managed to lift 126 kilograms (fifth place), and became fourth in the double event total.

Another Ukrainian weightlifter, Kristina Borodina, competed in the weight category over 87 kilograms. The athlete came fifth in the snatch (102 kg) and sixth in the clean and jerk (125 kg), which gave her sixth place in total.

Earlier at the 2024 European Championships in Sofia, Ukrainian Pavel Zalipsky won the silver medal in the snatch. Kamila Konotop became the absolute champion in the category up to 59 kilograms. Anna Davydova and Svetlana Samulyak each won three medals, including gold in the double event, in the category up to 64 kilograms. Anastasia Manevskaya won two silver medals in the category up to 87 kilograms.
