The defender was linked with a return to Shakhtar, but he will continue his career in Turkey
Ukrainian defender Yaroslav Rakytsky continue his career in Adana Demirspor. The 32-year-old footballer signed a 1+1 contract with the Turkish club.
In the summer, Rakitskiy was close to returning to Shakhtar, for which he played until 2019, but at the last moment the transfer did not take place. Botafogo also wanted to invite the defender, but the player refused the offer of the Brazilian club for family reasons.
In March, Rakitskiy terminated his contract with Zenit and left the St. Petersburg club after the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine. Yaroslav kept fit with Metalist and Shakhtar.
At the end of the 2021/22 season, Adana Demirspor took ninth place in the Turkish Championship. In the first round of the new Turkish Super League, Rakitskiy’s team will play with Giresunspor on August 7.
