finnish pilotAlfa Romeo » Valtteri Bottas will start from the back of the grid in Sunday’s race at the Austrian Grand Prix, according to the Formula 1 website.
Bottas was fined for replacing the engine, turbocharger, MGU-H and MGU-K systems, electronics and exhaust system.
The penalty will only apply to Sunday’s race, so the Finn’s qualifying results will determine his starting position in Saturday’s sprint.
British McLaren driver Lando Norris also had a number of components replaced on the car, but the driver’s allocated parts count was not exceeded so he will not be fined.
Bottas, Max Verstappen (Red Bull), Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Guanyu Zhou (Alfa Romeo) will receive new gearboxes, none of them will receive a penalty in the form of loss of places at the start.
The Austrian Grand Prix will take place on July 10.
