In qualifying at Silverstone, Yuki Tsunoda led Daniel Ricciardo – both drivers ended the battle in the second session…
Yuki Tsunoda (13th): “I am happy with today’s performance. The team and I worked effectively together during qualifying and adapted to the changing weather conditions.
We knew that qualifying would not be easy. We lacked speed in practice and it is a shame that we could not find a solution. At this circuit we are not fast enough in the fast corners, as was the case last week, but we will work hard to improve our results as much as possible tomorrow.
We have a good pace on the wet track, during the race we will communicate and adapt to the weather.”
Daniel Ricciardo (15th): “I am not very happy with today’s qualifying, this needs to be resolved. Both runs in the second session did not go as expected, I had to overtake a few times in the last corner before the fast lap and I don’t like being treated like that.
“I started my last lap a few seconds behind Zhou, and in the disrupted airflow it is impossible to do a clean lap. The last three weekends were not easy, we managed that, but at Silverstone the problems arose again. We will analyse everything and prepare for the race.”
