Boxer Gervonta Davis is a wanted man in Maryland after a Baltimore judge signed off on an arrest warrant on April 24 over claims he violated his probation. According to reports, local officials allege the 31-year-old former three-weight world champion broke the terms of his probation during an altercation at a Miami strip club last year.
According to TMZ, the arrest warrant stems from a 2020 hit-and-run case. Davis was previously arrested at the end of January following a weeks-long police search tied to the alleged Miami incident in October 2025.
Officials originally put out an arrest warrant for Davis after he was charged with misdemeanor battery, felony attempted kidnapping, and felony false imprisonment. The charges followed bombshell accusations made by a South Florida dancer.
The false imprisonment charge was eventually dismissed after authorities deemed it redundant. However, Davis still faces a felony kidnapping charge and a misdemeanor battery charge. The alleged victim also sued Davis over the October altercation.
Strip Club Altercation and Legal Claims
The altercation derailed a planned mega-fight against Jake Paul that was scheduled for November. In other boxing news, Paul recently teased a return to the ring just three months after having his jaw broken by Anthony Joshua.
The woman involved in the Miami incident said she previously had an intimate relationship with Davis that ended about a month before the altercation. She accused Davis of approaching her at the establishment around 4:15 a.m. local time one evening last October while she was working.
The dancer alleged that he "grabbed her by the back of her head, pulling her by the hair with one hand and by her throat with another." She told officers that Davis, while still maintaining his grip on the back of her head, then "forcefully escorted her" down a stairway and into a parking garage.
Upon reaching the parking area, Davis reportedly released her, and the woman ran to her co-workers for help. Two days later, she went to the police station to report the incident.
Hit-and-Run Probation and Court History
She reported minor injuries including bruising to her left arm. Police said detectives obtained video footage "that corroborates key elements of the victim's statements."
Davis pleaded guilty in February 2023 to charges stemming from the 2020 hit-and-run, which left multiple people injured, earning him 90 days of home detention and three years of probation. Local officials allege that the probation violation occurred during the alleged attack on the Miami strip-club worker.
In February, a judge in Maryland issued a warrant for Davis' arrest for a potential probation violation, before his attorneys successfully argued that he collaborated with law enforcement and should not face arrest. Three months later, however, that same judge issued another warrant that has stuck, meaning he is wanted by police.
