Greece lost ground in the battle for 10th place in the UEFA ranking after PAOK suffered a home defeat against Anderlecht. The loss completed a bad week for Greek clubs in European competition after Olympiacos drew against Nijmegen and Panathinaikos drew against CSKA 1948.

Greek football expected a win from PAOK against the Belgian club, but the match ended in defeat. Greek teams recorded two draws and one loss across three home matches, leaving Greece in 12th place in the UEFA standings behind Czechia and Poland.
