Kalamata came from behind to beat Volos 3-1, scoring three second-half goals to overturn a first-half deficit and claim their first win of the championship. Goals from Hamza, who scored twice, and Bolivar sealed the turnaround.
The match was played at the Peristeri stadium, meaning Kalamata were only nominally the home side. Volos were the sharper team in the opening stages and came close to scoring in the 13th minute, when Djoka's shot struck the post.
Volos take early lead
Volos took control of the game and went ahead in the 26th minute. Djoka found Marc Gonzalez, who struck from the edge of the box to send the ball into the net for a 0-1 lead.
Kalamata had a big chance to equalise in the 35th minute, but Bolivar could not get the connection he wanted on a ball played to him close to goal. The two sides went into the break with Volos in front.
Kalamata turn the game around
The second half told a different story. Kalamata pressed continuously and were rewarded in the 59th minute, when Moreira's cross found Hamza, who curled a shot into the net to make it 1-1.
Volos almost restored their lead in the 75th minute, but Regis's effort from close range came back off the post. Kalamata made them pay in the 84th minute, when Bolivar went through one-on-one and struck a shot that deflected off Ayacua, who had gone to block, and finished in the net for 2-1.
Hamza completed his brace and the scoring in the 93rd minute, finishing after a through ball from Diarra, to make the final score 3-1.
