Four Polish clubs competed on Thursday in the third round of UEFA Conference League qualifying, with experts criticizing performances by Lech Poznan and Rakow Czestochowa. Jagiellonia Bialystok secured a 2-1 victory against Glasgow Rangers, where Kajetan Szmyt stood out as one of the best players on the pitch. Lech Poznan defeated KI Klaksvik 1-0 following an 81st-minute goal by Yannick Agnero, but struggled heavily against the opponent from the Faroe Islands. Rakow Czestochowa recorded a 0-0 draw against Hammarby, leaving manager Dawid Kroczek and his team with a difficult task in the away leg.
Filip Modrzejewski of Sport.pl wrote regarding the Lech Poznan result that at least no one will think the two-leg tie is decided.
Krzysztof Marciniak, a journalist for Canal+ Sport, expressed that little speaks in favor of Rakow Czestochowa in the return match. Piotr Klimek, a specialist in UEFA statistics and rankings, claimed that if Rakow Czestochowa had managed to squeeze in a scruffy goal it would have been a very successful day. He added that Lech Poznan will probably win away, though nothing is certain.
Rakow Czestochowa evaluation
Kamil Glebocki of Na Wylot analyzed that the draw will make the return match in Sweden extremely difficult. He observed that Rakow Czestochowa at times acted as if lacking strength, with the central midfield producing far too little. Glebocki noted that Vladyslav Kochergin played the full match without doing anything memorable, adding that the team suffers from a lack of quality players in the final third and that he misses Oskar Berggren. However, Glebocki noted Rakow Czestochowa could still have won and scored at least one goal, while Hammarby also had their own chances.
Konrad Marzec of Super Express stated that the Klaksvik goalkeeper bowed beautifully before Agnero, adding that Hubert Bugaj's sigh of relief was the only appropriate summary of the match.
