Undefeated cruiserweight prospect Lucas Roehrig has signed a promotional deal with Zuffa Boxing to fight on Sky Sports at the Copper Box Arena in London on November 7.
The 23-year-old Londoner enters the deal with an unbeaten professional record of nine wins and zero losses, having secured five of those victories inside the distance.
Roehrig will make his debut under the new promotional banner on the Zuffa Boxing 12 card in East London, marking his latest step upward in the 200-pound weight category.
The cruiserweight division in professional boxing sits immediately below the heavyweight class, with fighters competing up to a maximum weight limit of 200 pounds, or 90.7 kilograms.
Roehrig is guided by former world super-middleweight champion George Groves, who acts as both trainer and mentor to the young contender.
Groves, a former World Boxing Association world champion from London who retired from professional competition in 2019, has overseen Roehrig's career development since his professional debut.
Unbeaten record and early career progression
Roehrig began his professional boxing journey in 2024, announcing his arrival with a third-round stoppage victory over former English champion Joel McIntyre.
Following his debut success, Roehrig returned to the ring last year to secure a dominant six-round shutout victory against American prospect Brian Jones.
The young fighter has since maintained his momentum by defeating a series of opponents holding positive win-loss records.
His two most recent appearances yielded consecutive stoppage wins against Adam Kolarik and Faton Tolaj, with both bouts hosted at York Hall in London.
Situated in Bethnal Green, York Hall is a historic municipal venue opened in 1929 that serves as the traditional spiritual center for British small-hall boxing.
The venue forms a key part of the British boxing circuit, where emerging talent competes on regional shows before advancing to major arena cards and television broadcasts.
Targeting international prospects and world titles
Speaking to Sky Sports News following the announcement, Roehrig described the promotional deal as an essential move for his long-term career ambitions.
"I'm really excited. This is a new chapter for me," Roehrig said. "Zuffa have come onto the scene and made a big splash, and for where I'm at in my career right now, that's exactly what I want to do too."
Roehrig emphasized that his path through the sport has included fighting across various levels of the domestic boxing landscape.
"I've been through the levels. I've boxed on Sky shows and on other channels, but I've also boxed on the small hall shows - I haven't skipped a step," Roehrig said.
"I think now is the perfect platform, perfect time to fight other prospects - Zuffa have a lot of other undefeated fighters - for me to really make some noise not just in the UK but internationally too."
The signing places Roehrig alongside an established group of cruiserweight fighters under the Zuffa banner, including IBF world champion Jai Opetaia, former WBO champion Chris Billam-Smith, and Canadian contender Ryan Rozicki.
Zuffa Boxing is the combat sports promotion established by Zuffa, LLC, the American sports firm originally known for building the Ultimate Fighting Championship into a global brand.
Sky Sports, the UK subscription broadcasting network operated by Sky, will televise Zuffa Boxing events under their partnership.
Championship ambitions and upcoming events
Roehrig made it clear that joining the promotional roster is aimed directly at securing major titles in the division.
"I've said numerous times that I'm aiming for world titles, that's the main goal, that's why I work so hard and that's why we're going to be taking risks," Roehrig said.
"Our first fight will be November 7. Make a splash, and then from there keep building. There's other belts that I'd love to collect along the way, but the Zuffa belt and the world titles are the end goal."
Before Roehrig takes to the ring for Zuffa Boxing 12 in November, the promotion hosts Zuffa Boxing 11 at the Copper Box Arena this Saturday.
The event will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and is headlined by a heavy-hitting heavyweight clash between Johnny Fisher and Michael Pirotton.
Fisher, a Romford-based heavyweight contender, enters Saturday's main event seeking to progress toward title opportunities, with the Zuffa Boxing 11 broadcast kicking off a busy autumn schedule for the promotion on Sky Sports.
The venue for both events, the Copper Box Arena, is located within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford and was originally constructed for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
