Juventus have made a £26million bid plus add-ons and a sell-on clause for Bayer Leverkusen teenager Kerim Alajbegovic, gazumping Chelsea for the player. Alajbegovic had been leaning towards a move to Chelsea but is now closing on an agreement with Juventus, who would put him straight into the first-team squad.
Hull City have asked about Germany Under-21 midfielder Mert Komur from Augsburg and have also enquired about Rayo Vallecano defender Nobel Mendy.
Liverpool talks continue over Barcola
Liverpool have been speaking with Bradley Barcola's representatives about the France international joining this summer, with a bid being prepared. Barcola has indicated he is keen on moving to Anfield, and it is now a question of how negotiations go with Paris Saint-Germain.
There is a belief a compromise could be reached for less than the £140million PSG sources initially quoted. The 23-year-old has two years left on his contract but has indicated he will not sign a new one amid frustration at a lack of starting time. Andoni Iraola wants another goalscoring winger, with Victor Munoz already signed.
City push for Bouaddi as Rodri future in doubt
Manchester City and Lille are holding further negotiations over a proposed £80million transfer for midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. The 18-year-old Morocco international is ready to move now, though Lille would prefer he stay for another season.
City want Bouaddi this season with Real Madrid ready to push for Rodri, who is keen to return to Spain for family reasons. City have added Elliot Anderson but lost Bernardo Silva, and could also sell Nico Gonzalez and Tijjani Reijnders, who has interest from Galatasaray and, earlier in the summer, Atletico Madrid.
City are also considering Marseille goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli among candidates to fill the void left by James Trafford's move to Leeds United. The 34-year-old Argentina international has one year left on his contract and was originally signed by City ten years ago, only to be loaned to Real Sociedad and eventually sold.
Henderson departure paves way for Chelsea
Brentford have announced that Jordan Henderson has left the club by mutual consent. The 36-year-old has held talks with Xabi Alonso ahead of joining Chelsea. Brentford are working to sign Mamadou Sangare from Lens and have interest in Pape Sarr from Spurs.
Stoke winger drawing interest
Stoke City winger Sorba Thomas is attracting interest from Coventry City, West Ham, Stuttgart and Genoa. The Wales international impressed against Everton in Stoke's 1-0 friendly win on Tuesday, following a Championship campaign in which he scored ten goals. Stoke are understood to value the 27-year-old at around £9million.
Sunderland pursue Toulouse defender
Toulouse have confirmed they are in talks with Sunderland over the £25million-rated defender Dayann Methalie. Toulouse president Olivier Cloarec said: "Dayann Methalie is one of the most sought-after players. There is no agreement with Sunderland. We were counting on him but the market is such that when there is a certain amount, not selling him would be a management error."
Boro enquire about Travers
Middlesbrough have made enquiries for Everton goalkeeper Mark Travers over a permanent transfer. The Republic of Ireland international started in Everton's friendly defeat to Stoke on Tuesday and has been the subject of several enquiries this summer, including from Coventry, who agreed a £22.5million fee plus add-ons with Brighton for Carl Rushworth on Tuesday.
Boro have also asked about Manchester United's Radek Vitek, but the 27-year-old Travers has been at the club before on loan and could prove cheaper. He joined Everton from Bournemouth last year on a four-year deal.
Everton have still to receive an offer from Al Hilal for Iliman Ndiaye. They are aware of interest but have no desire to sell, though the 26-year-old has turned down offers of a new contract.
Koleosho completes Paris move
Burnley winger Luca Koleosho has completed a permanent move to Ligue 1 side Paris FC for an undisclosed fee.
Derby set for Saudi cash injection
Derby County are close to finalising a major cash injection from Saudi Arabian sports promoter Turki Alalshikh to boost their spending power. Alalshikh has been in talks with owner David Clowes over a proposed deal since May, and it must clear the Football League and the Independent Football Regulator, with optimism it will be given the go-ahead by next week.
Alalshikh, 44, has previously owned football clubs in Spain and Egypt and is among the most powerful figures in world boxing. As chairman of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority and a prominent figure close to the country's de facto ruler Mohammed bin Salman, he has been criticised by human rights groups for his role in alleged 'sportswashing' by Saudi Arabia. He is looking to buy a stake in the Championship club.
Clyne leaves Palace again
Crystal Palace have confirmed that Nathaniel Clyne has left the club following the expiration of his contract. The full back, who made 252 appearances across two stints at Selhurst Park, told Palace TV: "The last few seasons have given me some of the best days of my life. When I started at Crystal Palace we were in the Championship. Now the club is playing European football, having nights like we did in Leipzig."
Palace remain in talks over a possible permanent deal for Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is training with the club in Como. Discussions are also continuing over defensive targets Chrislain Matsima and Raphael Le Guen.
Brentford closing on Sangare
Brentford are closing in on an agreement with Lens for Mamadou Sangare worth around £41million, moving quickly to fend off competition from Crystal Palace for the 24-year-old. Signing a new central midfielder was a priority even before Chelsea moved for Jordan Henderson. Brentford also like Spurs' Pape Matar Sarr.
Imray joins Wrexham
Wrexham have confirmed the signing of Danny Imray from Crystal Palace in a £4.5million deal plus bonuses should they gain promotion. The 23-year-old full-back has joined on a four-year contract and linked up with his new teammates on their USA pre-season tour in New York. He spent last season on loan at Blackpool and West Brom.
McFarlane heads to Leicester
Manchester City left back Christian McFarlane, 19, has joined Leicester on loan, becoming the third signing at the King Power Stadium this summer after Conor Chaplin and Alex McCarthy in Russell Martin's squad.
McFarlane said: "As a player, I'm intense and aggressive at both ends, attacking and defending. I like to make runs in behind and can be a bit of a nuisance for the opposition. The way [the manager] wants to play suits me perfectly, so I'm excited to get started."
Birmingham close on Lund
Birmingham are closing on a deal for Palermo left back Kristoffer Lund. The 24-year-old Dane spent last season on loan at Cologne, but the German side did not take up their £2.5million option to buy.
Solomon seeks permanent exit
Manor Solomon wants to leave Tottenham on a permanent transfer amid interest from West Ham. His agent has made it clear he does not wish for another loan move, after spells with Leeds, Villarreal and Fiorentina, which is expected to suit Spurs as they look to recoup funds and upgrade their wide options.
Spurs are closing on agreement with Wolves for 16-year-old defensive midfielder and England youth international Kwasi Senyah, who will join once terms are agreed and the move is cleared by the FA. Benfica are showing interest in Spurs left wing-back Souza, while Leicester remain hopeful of taking 18-year-old centre back prospect Malachi Hardy.
Newcastle chase Hornicek
Newcastle United are progressing in talks for Sporting Braga goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek, who has a £29million release clause. The 6ft 6in Czech international was pulled from Braga's squad to face Zeleznicar Pancevo in the Europa Conference League amid talks over his exit.
Vaulks in Tranmere talks
Wales international Will Vaulks is in talks over a move to Tranmere Rovers, the club where he started his career without making a senior appearance. The 32-year-old has gone on to play nearly 600 games for Sheffield Wednesday, Cardiff and Rotherham before joining Oxford United, for whom he made 38 Championship appearances last season.
Tranmere have also signed goalkeeper Harrison Male on a one-year contract after he was released by York City. The 25-year-old played 46 games as York pipped Rochdale to the National League title and won the Golden Glove after keeping 19 clean sheets.

Brighton have handed a first professional contract to 17-year-old defender Tate Ferdinand, son of former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand. Everton are showing interest in Celtic right-back Alistair Johnson, 27, who has 63 caps for Canada.
Nottingham Forest are closing on the £35million signing of Sporting Lisbon defender Ousmane Diomande. Ipswich Town are trying to sign Florentino Luis from Burnley, with the Portuguese midfielder also talking to Hull City.
