Mikaela Mayer and Chantelle Cameron will put three of the four world super-welterweight titles on the line when they headline MVPW-06 at Birmingham's BP Pulse LIVE Arena on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.
American fighter Mayer, the reigning WBA and WBC champion, meets British fighter Cameron, who holds the WBO title, over 12 rounds. The winner will leave with three of the division's four belts and move a step closer to undisputed status at 154lbs.
Mayer has a professional record of 22 wins and two losses. Cameron has won 22 fights and lost one.
Mayer, a 2016 US Olympian, is a former unified super lightweight world champion. Cameron, from Northampton, held the undisputed light-welterweight title before moving up to super-welterweight, and is best known for her past fights against Ireland's Katie Taylor.
The bout tops a card billed as UK vs USA, pitting a British fighter against an American opponent in almost every contest on the bill.
When and where is Mayer vs Cameron?
The fight takes place on Saturday, August 29, at the BP Pulse LIVE Arena in Birmingham, a city often referred to as Britain's "Second City". Live coverage on Sky Sports begins at 7pm, with ring walks for Mayer and Cameron expected between 9.30pm and 10pm.
Boxing's world titles explained
Boxing has four major sanctioning bodies, the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF, each of which crowns its own world champion. That means most weight divisions have several titleholders at once. A fighter who holds all four belts in a division is recognized as the undisputed champion, a status that has become a major selling point in the sport in recent years.
Who else is fighting on the card?
In the chief support bout, Caroline Dubois, the unified WBC and WBO lightweight world champion, takes on former US Olympian Amelia Moore. Dubois, the sister of heavyweight boxer Daniel Dubois, is among Britain's leading female fighters.
Three-weight world champion Terri Harper also features on the bill, returning to action against Miranda Reyes at super-welterweight. The main card is completed by Reina Tellez against Jessica Barry and Tysie Gallagher against Brandi Robinson.
The two world title fights, Mayer against Cameron and Dubois against Moore, make this the most significant women's boxing card staged in Birmingham in recent history.
Could there be tension at ringside?
Alycia Baumgardner, an undisputed world champion at super-featherweight, is expected to be watching from ringside. Baumgardner is a bitter rival of Dubois and has previously fought Mayer. A win for Dubois on Saturday could set up a future clash between the pair.
How to watch the undercard
The undercard fights will stream live on the Sky Sports website and app, and on the Sky Sports YouTube channel, from around 5pm on Saturday. The prelim bouts feature Shannon Courtenay against Ebonie Cotton, Neeraj Goyat against Yessin Koulali, Gemma Richardson against Kirstie Bavington, and Scott Melvin against Dylan Cheema.
Viewers without a Sky Sports subscription can also follow the action through NOW, Sky's streaming service, which carries boxing coverage without a long-term contract.
What comes next?
IBF champion Oshae Jones holds the fourth super-welterweight title. Whoever emerges from Birmingham with three of the four belts will be in position for a potential undisputed showdown against Jones for full control of the 154lb division.
