Dominican player Saúl Mena, better known as MenaRD, advanced to the Street Fighter 6 esports semifinals at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games after dominating Group A.
MenaRD won all three of his group matches by 3-0 scores without losing a single round in his debut at the competition. The crowd at the Pabellón de la Fama del Deporte cheered his dominant performance.
Semifinal matchups
MenaRD faces Jamaican player Okair Mclaren in the semifinals on Friday night, starting at 6:45 p.m., with the winner advancing to the gold medal match.
In the second semifinal, Panamanian player Raúl Cogley faces Colombian Juan López, who finished second in Group A behind MenaRD. Cogley won Group B with a 3-0 record, though his rivals gave him more of a battle, as he defeated Mclaren 3-1, Bahamian player Derek Wong Jr. 3-2, and Puerto Rican player Ricardo Román 3-1.
