Miyu Yamashita equalled the LPGA Tour's 72-hole scoring record on Sunday, closing with a four-under 66 to win the CPKC Women's Open by nine strokes in Edmonton, Alberta.
The Japanese golfer finished at 23 under par and 257 strokes, completing a wire-to-wire victory in Canada's national championship on the LPGA Tour, the top circuit in women's professional golf.
Her total matched the mark set by Sei Young Kim, who shot 257 at the 2018 Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic in Wisconsin, where she finished 31 under par.
A dominant week at Royal Mayfair
Yamashita was a stroke clear after an opening course-record 62 on Thursday. She followed with a 64 on Friday to open a five-shot lead, then carded a 65 on Saturday to take a six-stroke advantage into the final round at Royal Mayfair.
She pushed the winning margin to nine strokes with her closing 66, setting a tournament record for the Canadian national championship. The previous record of 262 was set by Jin Young Ko in 2019 at Magna Golf Club in Aurora, Ontario.
Titles in four different countries
The win was Yamashita's fourth LPGA Tour title, each earned in a different country. She won the Meijer LPGA Classic in the United States in June, having already claimed her first major at the AIG Women's Open in Wales and the Maybank Championship in Malaysia last year. The AIG Women's Open is one of five major championships on the women's golf calendar. Yamashita has also won 13 times on the Japan LPGA circuit.
Yoshida second, Kim third
Fellow Japanese player Yuri Yoshida finished second at 14 under after a closing 69. Kim ended a further stroke back after a final-round 67.
Seventeen-year-old Anna Huang was the leading Canadian, closing with a 65 to tie for fourth at 12 under. Aphrodite Deng, the 16-year-old amateur who won the 2025 US Girls' Junior, shot 67 on Sunday to tie for seventh at 11 under.
Two-time champion Brooke Henderson closed with a 70 to finish seven under, while world number one Nelly Korda shot 69 to end the week at five under.
Solheim Cup places confirmed
Three places on the United States' Solheim Cup team were decided during the week, with Allisen Corpuz, Andrea Lee and Alison Lee securing their spots for next month's contest in the Netherlands.
US captain Angela Stanford is due to announce her three remaining picks on Monday, August 24. The Solheim Cup, the biennial team event between the United States and Europe, is scheduled to run from September 11 to 13.
