NEC Nijmegen lost 2-1 to Sevilla in a friendly that served as their final preparation before the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round against Olympiacos.
Sami Ouaisa gave Nijmegen the lead after 30 minutes, but Isaac Romero equalised for Sevilla to make it 1-1 at half-time. Ibra Sow then settled the match with a goal in the 83rd minute.
Dusan Tadic made his debut for the club as a second-half substitute during the game.
Before the Sevilla friendly, Nijmegen had already announced their European squad for the Olympiacos fixtures. The club said limited options among younger players meant it could not register a full list, leaving the squad at 22 names.
Japan international Koki Ogawa, who played at the 2026 World Cup, was excluded along with new signing Adam Tachaoui and midfielders Willum Thor Willumsson and Vito van Crooij.
New arrivals Tadic, Emre Mor, Sierhuis, Monteiro, Bischof and Storm were all included in coach Dick Schreuder’s squad. Nijmegen can now focus fully on the Olympiacos tie.
