Arsenal have given Christian Norgaard permission to undergo a medical with Everton ahead of a proposed £7 million move, as the summer transfer window enters its final weeks before the September 1 deadline. The midfielder did not travel with Arsenal's squad to Dublin, with players involved in the England, Spain, Norway and France squads also left out while Brazilians Gabriel and Gabriel Martinelli, who returned after the World Cup, did make the trip.

Chelsea are closing in on an agreement with Rayo Vallecano for left wing-back Pep Chavarria, 28, who is waiting for permission to travel for a medical while final details are ironed out.
Manchester City step up Neto pursuit
Manchester City are firming up their interest in Chelsea winger Pedro Neto, having first made enquiries last month. Chelsea, who signed the Portugal international from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £51 million, want more than £65 million for him. City want a winger in, with Tottenham Hotspur also keen to sign Savinho.
Liverpool weigh up PSG raid
Liverpool are assessing whether to approach Paris Saint-Germain for winger Ibrahim Mbaye and his teammate Bradley Barcola. Mbaye, an 18-year-old right winger who starred for Senegal at the World Cup, has attracted interest from Manchester City and Tottenham, though Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen have made the most progress. Liverpool see Mbaye as a more natural fit to replace Mohamed Salah, who left Anfield and is closing on a move to Trabzonspor, while Barcola prefers the left flank. PSG are likely to ask for more than £150 million, and the picture is expected to become clearer in the coming days. Mbaye is represented by agent Jorge Mendes.
Salah in Turkey talks
Trabzonspor are hopeful of agreeing a two-year deal with Salah. The Turkish club's rivals Besiktas were understood to be the Egyptian's first choice, but those talks stalled last week.
Fulham raise bid for Charles
Fulham have made a revised £25 million offer, including add-ons, for Southampton midfielder Shea Charles after the Championship club rejected their first bid. Manager Alvaro Arbeloa, fresh from signing Real Madrid duo Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios for £46 million, wants the former Manchester City midfielder to strengthen his squad further. Leeds United walked away from talks for the 22-year-old Northern Ireland international last month. Southampton are pushing for £30 million, but Charles wants the move for the chance to play in the Premier League, which he missed out on in May. Fulham remain in talks to sign Thiago Pitarch from Real Madrid as well.
Hull close in on Norway prospect
Hull City are finalising a £7 million deal for 20-year-old Norwegian midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl from Tromso. The Norway U21 international set off for England on Monday morning ahead of his medical, having beaten off competition from Rangers and Cardiff City.
Ipswich eye Natan, sign Florentino
Ipswich Town are interested in Real Betis centre back Natan, 25, who joined the Spanish club from Napoli last season and was on the brink of making Carlo Ancelotti's World Cup squad before missing out.
Ipswich have also signed midfielder Florentino from Burnley on a five-year contract for an initial £16 million plus a further £3 million in add-ons. Hull had been in advanced talks over an initial loan for the 26-year-old.
Palace closing on US defender, reject Esse bid
Crystal Palace are closing on an £11 million deal for Real Salt Lake wing-back Zavier Gozo, a 19-year-old USA U23 international who can play at right wing-back or right wing. Lyon and Hoffenheim have also shown interest, but Gozo is heading for Palace as talks progress.
Palace have rebuffed an initial approach from Club Brugge for Romain Esse, who spent part of last season on loan at Coventry City. The Belgian club's target list also includes KRC Genk's Noah Adedeji-Sternberg and Red Bull Salzburg's Edmund Baidoo.
Middlesbrough busy in Championship market
Middlesbrough are closing in on the permanent signing of Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek. The Czech was a success on loan at Bristol City last season and made clear, despite returning to United for pre-season, that he wants to leave and be a No 1. United signed Karl Darlow as back-up to Senne Lammens, sharpening the focus on Vitek's departure.
Speaking after a defeat by Wrexham in Helsinki this summer, Vitek said: "I'm ready to go somewhere again and hopefully be No 1. My mind is the same [as it was back in March]. I want to play every week and that's the goal for next season."
Middlesbrough, seen as leading contenders for promotion, have also struck a £20 million agreement with Tottenham for striker Will Lankshear, and are in talks over a move for Spurs centre back Ashley Phillips, 21, who has spent the last three seasons on loan at Plymouth Argyle and Stoke City after joining from Blackburn Rovers.
Newcastle pursue Nmecha, close in on Guimaraes
Newcastle United are continuing to explore a move for Germany international Felix Nmecha, who they rate highly, though Borussia Dortmund want around £78 million for the 25-year-old midfielder. Manchester United have also made enquiries but have other priorities. Newcastle need a marquee addition with Arsenal nearing a total agreement to sign captain Bruno Guimaraes, with both clubs keen to finalise the fee and payment structure for the 28-year-old Brazilian.
Forest eye Reijnders, Villa check on Ruggeri
Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has emerged as a £55 million target for Nottingham Forest. The Netherlands international is understood to be open to the move for regular first-team football and would be a key figure in Oliver Glasner's plans.
Aston Villa have asked Atletico Madrid about left back Matteo Ruggeri, 24, who joined from Atalanta last summer and made 26 La Liga appearances and 47 in total. Atletico would consider suitable offers. Villa want a replacement for Lucas Digne and had previously pursued AC Milan's Pervis Estupinan, though manager Ruben Amorim wanted a closer look at him in pre-season first. Villa have also checked on the availability of Marseille winger Igor Paixao, who is also on Leeds United's list.
Spurs weigh up Jackson move
Tottenham are interested in Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, 25. There has been no formal approach to open club-to-club talks, but sources have confirmed Spurs have the Senegal international under consideration.
Rushworth completes Coventry switch
Coventry City have confirmed the £22.5 million signing of goalkeeper Carl Rushworth from Brighton on a five-year deal. Rushworth spent last season on loan at Coventry, winning the Championship's Golden Glove award after keeping 17 clean sheets and helping the club win promotion to the Premier League as champions. Newcastle also showed interest in the goalkeeper, who is represented by former Reading and Ireland winger turned agent Stephen Hunt.

Derby target Iorpenda, Potts joins Club Brugge
Derby County want Huddersfield Town midfielder Tom Iorpenda, 21, who is keen to move to the Championship after an impressive loan spell at Notts County, where he scored three goals and provided seven assists to help the club win promotion via the League Two play-offs. Iorpenda, who started out at Brighton, won Notts County's Players' Player, Fans' Player and Goal of the Season awards.
West Ham United have confirmed the departure of Freddie Potts to Club Brugge in a £10.5 million deal after the 22-year-old forward completed a medical. The club said: "Everyone at West Ham United would like to sincerely thank Freddie for his hard work, commitment and all-round contribution and wish him every success in the future."
Bristol City complete Ballard deal
Bristol City are finalising a £5 million signing of Leyton Orient striker Dom Ballard, 21, after protracted negotiations concluded with an improved offer. Ballard scored 23 league goals last season and will be paired with fellow new arrival Lorent Tolaj, who scored 17 for Plymouth. Southampton hold a sell-on percentage on Ballard, who was named in the League One Team of the Season and won Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season at the EFL Awards in May.
