Record-breaker at Famalicão

Born on November 11, 2004, in Póvoa de Varzim, Sá's full name is Gustavo Filipe Alves de Freitas Azevedo e Sá. He came to Olympiacos from Famalicão, where he made 120 first-team appearances in total, recording 12 goals and 16 assists.

Despite his age, Sá held the captaincy at Famalicão. He also set a notable domestic landmark during his time there, becoming the youngest player to reach 100 appearances in the Portuguese top-flight league.

In the season just concluded, Sá featured 34 times across league and cup competitions, contributing four goals and two assists while continuing to lead the side as captain.

Porto academy roots and international caps

Sá began his development in Porto's youth academy before switching to Famalicão's academy setup in 2018. He progressed through their junior ranks until breaking into the first team on a regular basis.

His performances earned him recognition at international level. Sá has represented Portugal at under-18, under-19, under-20 and under-21 level, accumulating caps across four different age-group squads.

Next step in career

Olympiacos described the deal as a significant addition to the squad. The club's official announcement confirmed that Sá would join training at once as the team prepares for upcoming fixtures.

The move to Piraeus represents the first time Sá has left Portugal as a professional, departing on loan from Premier League club Nottingham Forest.
