Olympiacos is intensifying efforts to sign 23-year-old Colombia midfielder Gustavo Puerta, with negotiations currently underway with Racing Santander.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Nottingham Forest, Villarreal, and Zenit Saint Petersburg are also tracking Puerta. Olympiacos currently leads the race as the club explores either a permanent transfer or a loan deal to secure the player.
Marca reported that Nottingham Forest was the first club to inquire about Puerta's situation and transfer terms. Although talks remain in the early stages without an agreement, interest from the Premier League team reflects the player's rising international profile. Clubs across several European leagues are following the negotiations, with Villarreal and Zenit Saint Petersburg also keeping tabs on his progress.
Left-back transfer targets
In addition to midfield targets, Olympiacos is moving quickly to sign a new left-back following Francisco Ortega's departure to River Plate. The Greek club is in active communication with both Porto and Red Star to cover the position.
Porto left-back Francisco Moura and Red Star defender Nair Tiknizyan are the primary choices for the spot. Olympiacos has monitored Moura for several months, with Antonio Miguel Cardoso leading those discussions.
Tiknizyan, a 27-year-old Armenian international, has not featured for Serbian side Red Star in Champions League qualifiers. Serbian media reports that rumors of his departure are increasing. Olympiacos remains in touch with both players to ensure it has options in place.
