Blizzard Entertainment will start the Overwatch Halloween Terror 2018 event on Tuesday, October 9, featuring new character skins and game modes.
The annual seasonal update runs for three weeks, concluding on October 31.
The event start time has not been officially announced. However, updates for the game typically launch between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. EST, which corresponds to 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. BST.
Event Schedule and Start Times
Blizzard previewed several new cosmetic skins on the official Overwatch Twitter account prior to the release. The previewed lineup includes Epic skins Undead McCree and Spider Widowmaker, alongside Legendary skins Jack-O'-Lantern Wrecking Ball, Enchanted Armor Pharah, and Banshee Moira.
Social media posts also featured character content for Doomfist. Game director Jeff Kaplan indicated that the Junkenstein's Bride skin is expected to return alongside other cosmetic items from previous Halloween events.
Players can purchase returning Halloween skins for 1,000 credits each. New event skins will cost 3,000 credits apiece.
New Character Skins and Pricing
The update brings back the Junkenstein's Revenge game mode. Kaplan noted that a few minor tweaks could be in store for the player-versus-environment brawl.
In Junkenstein's Revenge, four players team up to defend the gates of Adlersbrunn Castle from hordes of enemy characters created by mad scientist Dr. Junkenstein. Blizzard Entertainment also hinted at a Halloween-themed version of the Chateau Guillard map on social media.

Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer hero shooter originally unveiled at BlizzCon 2014 and officially released on May 24, 2016. Two teams of six players select unique characters with specialized abilities to compete in fast-paced matches.
Blizzard Entertainment, which also developed the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo franchises, reported that Overwatch surpassed 40 million players globally as of May 2018. The title is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows, and operates as a recognized esport.
