Greek television offered a packed schedule of football on Thursday, September 10, headlined by Panathinaikos's home game against Kifisia and a full night of UEFA Champions League fixtures.
Before the European matches got under way, the Greek Cup produced an early kick-off, with Asteras Tripolis facing Aris at 17:45, shown live on SKAI.
Panathinaikos host Kifisia
At 21:15, also on SKAI, Panathinaikos welcomed Kifisia in a Stoiximan Super League fixture that had been rescheduled from the competition's opening matchday. Panathinaikos play their home games at the Athens Olympic Stadium, known as OAKA.
Asteras Tripolis, who compete under the sponsored name Asteras Aktor, are based in the Peloponnese city of Tripoli, while Aris are one of Greece's traditional clubs, based in Thessaloniki. Kifisia are a club from the northern Athens suburbs who reached the Super League in recent seasons.
Champions League fixtures
Among the night's Champions League matches, two stood out: Como against RB Leipzig, broadcast on Cosmote Sport 6, and Bayern Munich against Bodo/Glimt, shown on Cosmote Sport 2. Both kicked off at 22:00. The Champions League is UEFA's leading annual competition for Europe's top domestic clubs.
Elsewhere in the competition, PSV Eindhoven played Shakhtar Donetsk and Fenerbahce faced Roma, both matches starting at 19:45 on Magenta Sport 5 and Magenta Sport 4 respectively. At 22:00, Slavia Prague met Lens, Manchester United played Sabah, and English third-tier side Stevenage faced Luton in an EFL League One match also carried on the Magenta Sport platform.
