The 0.8 version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mobile was reportedly released on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018.
The update introduces the highly anticipated Sanhok map, new weapons, vehicles and an updated Clan system. The game also features additional measures to protect against cheaters.
According to the Tencent support team, players can get the update on Sept. 12 between 00:00 and 08:00 UTC.
"For now, we are still making sure that the update is good to roll out globally hence the Philippines and the UK first before we open up the floodgates," the support team said.
Players must initiate an in-game download for the Sanhok map after installing the main game update.
"This is because we did quite a bit of optimization on not only Sanhok but all 3 maps," the developers said, adding it caused a heftier download within the game.
"But we hope that end result will be to your benefit!" the team added. "Thank you so much for your patience so far. We can't wait to hear your feedback once you get your hands on the 0.8.0."
Patch notes and clan updates
The developer released patch notes detailing the upcoming gameplay changes and overall improvements.
- Sanhok can now be downloaded independently.
- Players can now use a flare gun, a QBZ gun and a duckbill attachment for shotguns.
- New vehicles include muscle cars and a bulletproof UAZ.
The update introduces a new Clan Perks system. Players can equip new Clan titles upon purchase, while Clan Rankings now list the most active Clans for the current week and season.
Anti-cheating and game settings
The patch improves the detection of cheating plugins. The developers added report buttons to Spectator Mode, Basic Information and Results screens.
Players can directly dismantle time-limited items to BP and specify pickup quantities in their settings.
Missions feature additional Achievements and a "Collect All" button to collect rewards for completed tasks. Players also have a chance to get a custom mystery drop from lucky airdrops after a match.
The season page now shows data for all seasons played, season titles and the highest tier reached.
The Royale Pass adds new mission types to the game.
The developers optimized the season page animation for some device models and tuned up the chat system. Accidental friendly fire will no longer be penalized, and players can delete friends in whole batches.
The shop now previews all 3D models added to vehicle and airplane finishes, and items contained in airdrops have been tuned.
