Former Formula 1 star Ralf Schumacher married his partner Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne in a glitzy ceremony in St Tropez on Saturday to kick off a three-day celebration. The couple celebrated in front of their loved ones while dressed in navy blue suits with light blue ties.

Schumacher, 50, and Bousquet-Cassagne, 36, who is 14 years his junior, own a home near the French coastal town. Cameras from Sky and Wow were there to film the wedding as part of a new documentary series following their lives.

The four-part series, 'Ralf & Etienne: Wir sagen Ja (We say Yes)', is already on air. The season finale wedding episode is scheduled to be broadcast later this week.

The episode is expected to include coverage of Bousquet-Cassagne undergoing a facelift ahead of the ceremony. The 36-year-old was keen to have the procedure despite reservations from his partner. Plenty of guests were in attendance for the duo's special day.

Documentary filming and family history

The wedding comes 19 months after Schumacher came out as gay following his split from his ex-wife Cora. The former couple tied the knot in 2001 and were together for 13 years, sharing a son named David.

After they split and Schumacher revealed he was in a same-sex relationship, the situation escalated into a bitter feud. Cora burned her wedding dress and made a public plea asking Schumacher to leave her alone so she could 'heal in peace', claiming she had 'wasted her best years' on him.

However, when the marriage was first reported in February, Cora sent a heartfelt message wishing the couple well. Speaking about herself and her new partner Steven Bo Bekendam, she said: 'Steven and I wish Ralf and Etienne all the best and much happiness.'

Schumacher's brother Michael Schumacher, the seven-time F1 world champion, is wheelchair-bound after a horrifying skiing crash in 2013.
