Red Bull Instalock, the first professional women's esports tournament of the year, will take place at the Bull Gaming Sphere in Shoreditch, London, over the weekend of April 20-21.
Four of the best Valorant teams from around the world will compete for the title: G2 Gozen, GIANTX, Karmine Corp, and Shopify Rebellion. Valorant is a first-person tactical hero shooter that was first released in 2020 and has grown in popularity over the past four years.
Red Bull Player and G2 Gozen member Michaela 'Mimi' Lintrup said it was fantastic to see another event for women's Valorant come into play, adding that Red Bull Instalock was another amazing step into making a really lively competitive scene. She said it would also be great for fans, with the format twist bringing a really exciting and new edge to every matchup.
Format and broadcast details
Each team will need to field three duelists, the game's dedicated offensive class, encouraging aggressive plays while rewarding tactical expertise and clutch skills.
Women's professional gaming leagues generated more than 28 million hours of viewing time in 2023. Red Bull Instalock will be broadcast on Red Bull's Twitch and YouTube channels, hosted by Yinsu Collins, with commentary from Kieran 'Kairo' Tulloch, Billie 'BillieIDK' Purdie, Matt 'Twiggy' Twigg, and Harry 'Hazza' Chapman.
Action begins at 12pm BST on both days, with semi-finals on Saturday and the final on Sunday.
