The Russian judo national team has won the medal standings at the Grand Slam tournament in Lausanne, Switzerland, after collecting seven total medals.
The Russian squad secured two gold medals, one silver and four bronze during the three-day competition held from August 28 to August 30, according to results published on the official International Judo Federation website.
Japan finished second in the overall medal standings with two gold medals, one silver and three bronze medals. Germany took third place in the team standings after ending the event with two gold medals and one silver medal.
Individual weight class achievements
Marina Vorobieva won a gold medal for Russia in the women's under-48 kilogram weight category, while Inal Tasoev captured gold in the men's over-100 kilogram category. Danil Lavrentyev earned silver in the men's under-73 kilogram division.
Four Russian athletes added bronze medals to the overall tally. Madina Taimazova secured bronze in the women's under-70 kilogram category, and Maria Ivanova took bronze in the women's over-78 kilogram division. Ramazan Abdulaev in the men's under-66 kilogram class and Egor Andoni in the men's under-90 kilogram class also earned bronze medals.

The International Judo Federation previously allowed Russian judoka to compete in tournaments organized under the federation's auspices.
In a statement released by its press service, the federation noted that Russia is one of the leading countries in world judo. The governing body stated that the return of Russian athletes should enrich competitions across all levels of the sport.
