Russian skier Veronika Stepanova, in her own column, described which win she considered the most important for her this season, and how coach Yegor Sorin responded to her results.
Stepanova won the classic 10 km race at the Russian Cross-Country Skiing Cup in Kirovo-Chepetsk.
“The classic 10 km race in Kirovo-Chepetsk proved to be a marker of my development. The victory over Natalya (Nepryaeva) in her own discipline made Egor Vladimirovich even happier than it made me, and Sorin satisfied with a race is a rarer phenomenon than snow on Laura in April.”
“Another victory in the 10 km freestyle race at Champion Heights in Malinovka came despite my biochemistry and Whoop data clearly showing that morning that my functional status was just below baseline, and I felt it. I outskied my rivals on technique and willpower,” wrote Stepanova.
At the conclusion of the Russian Cup, Stepanova finished second in the overall standings, behind Natalya Nepryaeva.
